At a young age Justene Mackenzie loved Gem hunting, she went fossicking with her family to Lightning Ridge, Yowa & Rubyvale and was always happy to find ‘treasure’. When she was a teenager, Justene joined a Lapidary Club and learned basic gem cutting and Silversmithing, she left it all behind until her 30’s, when she decided to make jewellery again. Buying the basic tools and equipment, she started once again, to create with precious metals and gemstones again.

Creating and designing beautiful jewellery over the past 15 years, her unique skills and techniques have evolved and are regularly exhibited. The Silver Dragonfly Boutique, in the Heart of Yungaburra, North Queensland, is where Justene works. Her love for the natural world inspires many of her unique and precious pieces, combining imaginative ideas, creative spark, practically and beauty.
