Justene Mackenzie loved gemstones from a young age. She would go fossicking with her family to areas such as Lightning Ridge, Yowa, and around the Rubyvale area, always happy to bring home ‘treasure.’ As a teenager, Justene joined the local Lapidary Club to learn basic gem cutting and silversmithing before life took her on a different journey.

Years later, Justene decided to rediscover the joy she found making jewellery, and has now been creating beautiful and unique bespoke pieces with precious metals and gemstones for over 15 years.

Justene’s unique skills and abilities have continued to evolve, remodelling old jewellery into new, offering regular silversmithing workshops and exhibiting her jewellery around the Cairns region.

Justene draws inspiration from her love for the natural world, design, and colour, bringing her ideas to life.

The Silver Dragonfly Boutique in Yungaburra, Far North Queensland is where these  stunning artisan pieces are primarily handcrafted and showcased.
